Project Coordinator Critical Infrastructure Lab

The critical infrastructure lab, a project funded by the Ford Foundation, the Internet Society, and the Open Technology Fund at the Media Studies and European Studies departments of the University of Amsterdam, develops new infrastructural futures that center people and the planet of profit and capital. The most important part of your job is enabling the team of five researchers and seven fellows to do their work by taking care of administrative and project management tasks. We are looking for someone who is diligent and precise and who enjoys administrative processes, structuring complex workflows. In short, someone who is not scared by spreadsheets and GANTT charts but actually enjoys them.
What are you going to do
• Keep track of the outputs of the lab for project reporting;
• Lead the project narrative and financial reporting to the funders;
• Maintain the project website, newsletter, and mailinglists, including
content writing (short event reports and blog posts);
• Support event organization, events might be exhibitions, infrastructures
walks, workshops, conferences and retreats;
• Help manage the publication of books, special issues, and popular culture
products;
What we ask of you
You have good knowledge of English and Dutch. You are excellent at time and priority management, and are a very organized person. Experience with free software (such as Nextcloud, Linux, LibreOffice) is an advantage.

We offer a temporary employment contract for a period of 1 year with a probationary period of two months and a possible extension of up to 12 months (depending on funding). Preferred starting date is 01 January 2025.

The interviews will be held on 20 December. Preferred starting date is January 1, 2025. The nature of the position does allow us to hire individuals who cannot already work in the Netherlands (we cannot apply for a work permit for you).
